Liposuction

Liposuction or Lipoplasty as the cosmetic surgeons refer to it has become another very popular aesthetic body treatment which removes unwanted body fat; usually in the thighs, buttocks and abdominal areas, although it is not a weight loss treatment. Unfortunately, an unwanted side effect to this procedure is the return of the fat on occasion; this is usually from a different area to the one it was removed from.

Although there are more, the two most used techniques are Ultrasonic and tumescent and it is likely you will have one of these. The most modern of these techniques is Tumescent and has become one of the most commonly practiced aesthetic cosmetic procedures in America.

There is less bruising with this method which is an additional benefit from the use of a smaller tube. The Tumescent liposuction technique has proven to be safer than the standard method using general anesthesia but it also less painful and has minimized post operative recovery time.

Some of the most awkward areas to remove fat from are the thighs, hips, back and upper stomach region but Ultrasonic liposuction makes this possible.

It is possible, even though rare, for internal injury to occur owing to the fact the surgeon cannot adequately see where the probe is once it's inside the body when performing the traditional technique of removing fat. If you are considering this type of treatment then discuss it with your cosmetic surgeon who will be able to give advice on the most appropriate method for you.

Although side-effects using liposuction are possible, serious problems are rare; whilst the risk of death is around 1 in 5,000. Preparation for this type of treatment is imperative so a series of physical examinations are required to ensure that the risk to the individual is minimal. To ensure infections do not occur after treatment, cosmetic surgeons prescribe antibiotics to patients and re-iterate the importance of keeping wounds clean. Cosmetic surgery is improving all the time, so are the techniques to perform it and methods to avoid complications.

Lipo Dissolve is a liposuction alternative which is useful in the removal of small amounts of fat like cellulite; dissolving it using a number of small injections. Lipo Dissolve can also be administered in combination with any other non-surgical skin treatment and does not require any anesthesia since it is virtually painless.
